About

Zhang Zhanjun, Ph.D., Professor (Grade II), serves as a doctoral supervisor for both the Physical Electronics and Materials Science programs. He is recognized as an Academic and Technical Leader in Anhui Province and received support from the Ministry of Education's New Century Excellent Talents Program in 2006. Dr. Zhang teaches undergraduate courses such as University Physics, Atomic Physics, and Quantum Mechanics, as well as graduate courses including Advanced Atomic Physics, Advanced Quantum Mechanics, and Frontiers in Quantum Information.

His research encompasses a broad range of topics, including atomic nuclei, atomic and molecular systems, quantum dots, quantum information and computation, condensed matter, and materials science, with a current focus on quantum information and computation. To date, he has published over 140 research papers in prestigious domestic and international journals like PRA, garnering more than 2000 positive citations in SCI-indexed publications and achieving an H-index of 35. He has served as a manuscript reviewer for these journals for many years.

Currently, Dr. Zhang is leading one ongoing National Natural Science Foundation of China project. He has previously completed four NSFC projects, three Ministry of Education projects, and three provincial-level projects as principal investigator. Additionally, he has participated in the completion of one NSFC project and one Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Technology Innovation Fund project under the Ministry of Science and Technology.

Under his guidance, five master's theses have been awarded Provincial Excellent Master's Theses, and he has received a Provincial Natural Science Award (1st place) and a Provincial Technological Progress Award (3rd place). Since 2004, Dr. Zhang has consistently served as a reviewer for the National Natural Science Foundation projects across various disciplines, including Physics I & II (Mathematical and Physical Sciences Division), Information Science Division, and Engineering and Material Sciences Division. He participated in the Excellent Youth Foundation review for the Information Science Division in 2018.

From 2020 to 2023, Dr. Zhang has consecutively appeared on Stanford University's global list of top 2% scientists, also featuring on their Career Impact and Annual Impact lists. In 2021, he acted as a remote reviewer for Swiss National Science Foundation projects. Furthermore, he has been named among Elsevier's Highly Cited Chinese Researchers in 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023.
